How to Build a Wellness Expert Brand

March 09, 2022

Have you ever felt clueless when it comes to branding your business? You might have heard others talking about it, but why is branding important to health and wellness professionals? Maybe you’re not even sure what a brand really is! As a health and wellness practitioner, you weren’t trained to be a branding and marketing expert so it’s very understandable if this isn’t your lane! That’s why we brought in Nicole Harlow, Brand Strategist and CEO of Brand Better Design Studio (we love the name, by the way!), to share all about how to build a wellness expert brand.

Why is Branding Critical for Getting New Clients?

Your brand tells the story of who you are and why you do what you do. It aligns your personality, purpose, and expertise with your client’s knowledge of you. Branding helps people know, like, and trust you, and seek you out for your services no matter who else is practicing and what you charge.

Nicole shines light on what a brand really is, what you need to know when working online, as well as practical tips and strategies for building a successful wellness brand that will help get your message across to the right people.

What We Covered

  • What branding really is (it’s not what you think!)
  • What you need to know about bringing your brand online
  • The 3 Pillars of building a wellness expert brand

Implement Nicole’s Strategies in Practice Better

Since a brand is about how you make your clients feel, Nicole spoke about the importance of keeping that feeling consistent. By weaving your branding into all of your touchpoints with clients, whether that’s copywriting or with your branding logo and colors, they get to develop a relationship with you even before they sign up to work with you.

To implement your brand in Practice Better, consider customizing your portal by adding your logo and colors. Company colors are used in both your Client + Practitioner Portal as well as PDFs generated using the vibrant display setting. Another feature to use when it comes to branding is creating a personalized URL to align with your practice name.

The next step is to think about all of the touchpoints you have with clients via Practice Better, and where you can customize your copy to match with your brand. As Nicole shared, it’s important to add personalization to these points of communication, especially when you’re working online! One of the easiest ways to brand your content in Practice Better is by customizing your email templates found in your client notification settings. This allows you to add more personality to automated emails such as session reminders or invoice payment notifications.
